I just started a few months ago. I used to do more watercolor...but I sort of suck at that, so I've taken up acrylics. I messed around with oils, and they're beautiful but sort of a pain. I might take them out again sometime, though. I mostly use canvas and canvas board, but I've heard interesting things about painting on wood panels and glass, so I might wanna try that sometime.
Anyone else here paint? What kinds of materials do you like to use?

Aw, it might just take a little practice. I never thought I'd be one to paint, I'm more of a pencil drawing kinda gal, but I figured I should try to broaden my horizons a little, and it worked out a lot better than I expected. If you want to start, I'd definitely suggest acrylics, it's easy to fix any mess ups and is easy to get a lot of different effects. And they're what I used to paint my jacket, so they're good for that too This was my first one. My teacher told us to paint flowers, but I wanted to do a bug. And anyone who can guess what movie this is from gets like...super brownie points. So, everyone! Paint! Share! Love!

whoa, tina. mad, mad skills! amazing! i'm not nearly as skillful, but i have been known to dabble. this is some stuff i did last year. no real inspiration. just got bored. this was something i made for a lady i fancied. it's all meaningful and nostalgic and stuff. and this was the other side. again, no real inspiration. i was just really into drawing severed heads at the time and i really, really like giraffes. ha!

Wow, eatyrspleens, those are great! So interesting, and you have a great sense of color (never my strong point).
I really wanna hug your sad bumblebees.

I paint. Not as much as I'd like to, but it works. I'm all about acrylics, water colors if I'm feeling it. Need to get back into it over the summer.
